Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star in Japanese

I thought I’d share one of our favorite youtube videos: “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” in Japanese AKA “Kira Kira Boshi”.

Usually, we watch the English version first and then load up the Japanese version right after. English or Japanese, this is definitely Xavier’s favorite version of “Tinkle” [sic] on Youtube. The version by the Wiggles is 2nd favorite. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Maybe with all the latest news you are feeling inspired to learn more about the Japanese culture? If so, here are a few anthology books that all include traditional Japanese tales.

Book of Knights

Book of Dance Stories

Pirate Book

Book of Pirates

A Calendar of Festivals

Grandmothers’ Stories

A Forest of Stories

The Lady of Ten Thousand Names

And now that you’ve enjoyed learning a little Japanese language and culture consider giving to one of the many charity organizations involved in helping Japan during this time of enduring crisis.

One in particular you might want to consider is SAVE THE CHILDREN. Donations to the Japan Earthquake Tsunami Children in Emergency Fund will exclusively be used to help provide disaster relief and support for Japanese children. In addition to immediate relief, this fund will help support long-term recovery plans to restore education and child care in Japanese communities ravaged by the disasters.
