I’m so excited because I received a letter from the Philadelphia Book Festival today confirming our space for the Festival Street Fair on Saturday April 16, 2011, 10am – 5pm. I will be there representing Barefoot Books with my partner, Jamie.
I hope you stop by and say HI – bring the little ones as we will be offering free crafts at our tent for some added fun!
Fifth Annual Philadelphia Book Festival Blossoms into a Week-Long Celebration!
This April, writers, poets, performers, and literary exhibitors will gather for the Free Library’s fifth annual Philadelphia Book Festival. The Festival begins on Monday, April 11 and continues throughout the week with special events and performances including appearances by writer and comedian Tina Fey, raconteur Garrison Keillor, and two-term U.S. Poet Laureate Kay Ryan, as well as our third annual First Person Inter-City StorySlam, which will pit storytellers from Boston against Philly’s finest tale-spinners.
Many award-winning children’s authors, illustrators, and YA writers will visit the Festival during Saturday’s day-long family extravaganza, including Walter Dean Myers, Sonia Lynn Sadler and Bryan Collier (both winners of 2011 Coretta Scott King Awards for illustration), Kadir Nelson, and Kathryn Erskine, winner of the 2010 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature.
The Festival concludes with the popular Festival Street Fair on Philadelphia’s busy and beautiful Benjamin Franklin Parkway from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16.
This year, the book festival is partnering with two new events on the Philadelphia arts and culture scene: the Philadelphia Science Festival and the Philadelphia International Festival of the Arts (PIFA)!
More Festival events, programs, exhibitors, and performers are still being confirmed.

Hello, I just came from blog hop. I just joined your lovely site here. Congratulations on that spot you got from the book festival! Hope you'll have a great time there
Thank you, I hope so too. I can't wait!
Good answer! The answer on my book blog is a little embarassing; it’s a book that’s been sitting on my TBR pile for a year.
To my shame, I only opened the book because I remember it contained an Amazon gift card.
